There is no doubt that businesses are dependent on their ability to deliver. However, it looks as if being able to meet deadlines is a matter of hit or miss. Most global companies are looking for ways to increase accountability. Without transparency and real time visibility there is no way to take decisions and being right or wrong is a matter of pure luck.

Last week we had the opportunity to present Clarizen at the prominent Under The Radar event held annually on Microsoft campus. The event coincided with our major release of Clarizen 2.0, a state-of-the-art Web 2.0 application.

Clarizen 2.0 is for project teams seeking a project management solution that is easy for everyone to use BUT not at the price of giving up indispensable project functionality. With the closing of 2007 it is time to take stock of where you are in project management and look at where you want to be in 2008.  Some of the work we (at Collaborative Strategies) have been doing over the last few months is to look at the enterprise and how well it is adopting Collaboration 2.0 technologies (or Web 2.0 technologies moving into the enterprise).  It probably would not surprise you to know that these more traditional technologies (I will call these Web 1.0 for now) have wide spread adoption in the enterprise, but these new Web 2.0 technologies are not being adopted as quickly into the enterprise as many (not in IT) would wish.

We are excited to release our first commercial version after the great traction we got from the market in the Beta phase with 50 paying customers, 300 subscriptions and over 2000 organizations using our trial version.  Furthermore we are settling into our new HQ in California and I just got my new toy.

Newer SaaS PM tools promise not only less complexity and improved ease-of-use, but they often do not require a highly trained project manager to make the project succeed.
