Every company is doing project management, however, the majority of companies are not using a PM tool to manage projects.

So, why are PM tools not working? I think there is one main reason- lack of team adoption.
The tools are designed for the individuals - not the team. However, teamwork is critical for projects to succeed. Clarizen's Project Team Automation solution is helping businesses be successful in managing their projects via team adoption.

When you have projects you spend 10% of the time on planning and 90% of the time on execution. You have 3 people that are doing planning and 50 the execution. Current PM tools are focused only on planning. So how do people execute their projects today? They use email which lacks any traceability, accountability and visibility. Clarizen is connecting the planning with the execution and delivering real-time visibility that is helping teams make the right decisions and on time.

The only way to connect the plan and the execution is to create team participation. Clarizen is leveraging email, users most commonly used solution, to drive team adoption. In addition, Clarizen enables content collaboration, creating a project repository for all documents, emails and discussions - all of which so critical for project success.

Who is actually managing projects? Who is being held accountable? Who has the deadlines to meet? Often it's the line manager, the VP of Marketing, the VP of Engineering, or anyone of us managers who are not likely to be trained project managers. Current tools are designed for certified project managers and are way too complex to be used by people like you and I.

Clarizen is helping project teams be successful by delivering project execution via team adoption.

Expert response - work live, be online, stay mobile!

Hi, my name is Maxim. I know something about cost of time and how project may be delayed by weeks, due to small miscomm just among few people on who said "that" and who should do "this"... ... on how people sitting near each other by table within 1 room are unable to write an e-mail to each other to be at next step and next task together with success. I'd say, that target of next version of CLARIZEN system (shell, workspace or online collaboration environment as whole - as you like) should allow teams to avoid any e-mail communication - this actually won't be necessary, as e-mail communication is nice offine way of getting and distributing project info among team and now it is VERY SLOW most of times (and SPAM flooded). For any PM it would be quite simple and easy to add people to CLARIZEN-supported project and require each to enter all data there directly - tasks, notes, ideas, expenses, contacts, time, messages... This TRUE ONLINE APPROACH would eliminate the necessity to use offline tools like e-mail, where even 1 (one, just one) EXCEL file copied and versioned among 10 (ten) people could be a big bottlneck for the project integrity overall. What can I say on the amount of miscomm and time waste for big projects, where dozens of people and hundreds of docs are.... HEH! Just heh! I suggest CLARIZEN team to focus on that idea more and hope, that with CLARIZEN enchancements and new version this target would be possible soon - it will save us a universe of time. Of course, for feed and distro purposes, e-mail should be used to deliver for 3rd parties any required info, as not each project may allow any 3rd party to join the team online. If not all are willing or able to collaborate online, classic (old and slow tools like e-mail) can be used... 8-) And please - contact me for more tech info, it will save your development / testing time. Thank you for attention, Maxim Bocharov MARSNET
