History is full of stories of how little things, if left untended, can eventually bring really big things down in a heap of dust. Like empires. Like civilizations. And yes, like projects, too. Project managers of a certain vintage may find themselves, as I sometimes do, reflecting on the old days – as in a bygone era when rotary phones ruled the earth, when personal computers were neither very personal nor computed all that much, and when

Show me a good project manager, and I’ll show you a good issue manager.

We all know that, generally speaking, project managers are great people who know what they’re doing. Sure, some score higher on the “nice” and “smart” scale than others, but that’s true of any field.
