How do we pinpoint issues related to application responsiveness?

At times, the app may perform well, and at times, we may need to wait more than a sec or two.  (waiting for that red update text in the bottom left, before proceeding with the next click).

Is there a way to diagnose if local isp is abit congested, slow local computer, or other possible causes of slow performance?   I am guessing that you have an SLA with your customers?  If so, how do you evaluate the status/condition?

There is actually a link to a performance test posted somewhere in the forums by Gal. You could run that, but I think most of the performance issues are probably due to a slow browser. I would recommend using Chrome on a PC (Firefox 3.5, Safari 4, or Chrome Beta for Mac). Also have IT check your Firewall and make sure app.clarizen.com is on the safe list so it doesn't need to be authenticated each time. Also Clarizen can consume 500MB+ of RAM if left open for long periods of time, so if you are using many applications that can cause some slowdown. Any machine with 3GB or more will make this a non issue, but a machine with 2GB of RAM or less may require restarting your browser at some point in the day to free up RAM (FYI, sometimes I'll use Clarizen on a netbook with 1GB of RAM and a processor better suited for a calculator, and it runs Clarizen fine).
