When you are importing a project from MSP, there are 3 fields that Clarizen looks at to match MSP resources to Clarizen resources: First Name, Last Name, and Email Address.  This is very important to keep in mind, because if the fields don't match, then Clarizen will make a new resource.

I would highly suggest adding email addresses to your MS Project resources before importing.  You can do this by adding an email address field to your Resource Chart in MS Project (it is not a default column in this view, needs to be added).

This is very important to know prior to importing - a popup note of this would be very helpfull to newcomers to clarizen.
My MSProject upload experience:
Until transferring to clarizen I had used MSP without collaberation - a single licence of course without a server. The resource pool I had mistakenly (but not critical to MSP) held the same user name under different spellings. When uploading to clarizen I benifted from removal of the resource names from the project - otherwise the upload to clarizen would have created as many users as per the number of name variations in the project. I had maintaned a resource pool which MSP updates each time a new resource is added to a project.
