OK, so you set up the Groups, Skill Sets, Job Titles, now
what we can you do with it?
1. Resource Assignment – When opening the assign resource screen,
from right-side profile card, you usually get a list of all resources in the
organization. You can now filter the list to show relevant Group, Skills and
Job Titles and ease up on the selection process. You can also see the load or
the calendar view of the group members at this point, to optimize the
assignment selection
2. Resource Load – If you need to know your group’s load over this
week, you can navigate to the Resources subsystem, and select the Resource Load
option for viewing the group load. The load screen opens, and you can see the
total load of the group, and the load for each resource in the group down to
the task level, for both planning and running tasks, by units or hours. This
works the same for Skills and Job Titles. Just add them to the list
3. Resource Calendars – Now you can view the group’s calendars
while assigning users from the group. Follow up on the scenario described in
the first bullet, and when you have the filtered list, select all the names,
and hit the ‘Calendar View’ operation in the toolbar.
4. Reports – We have 2 new reports, for viewing tasks and issues
assigned for specific group members. Go to Reports Subsystem, and open the
Tasks and Issues categories, and run the ‘All assigned tasks by Group, Job
Title and Skills’ and ‘All assigned issues by Group, Job Title and Skills’
reports
5. Apply regional settings – When setting up the group, you can set
the default values of the group, Time Zone, Language, and Direct Manager, and
apply it to the rest of the group. This would save time when setting up the
organization users. Very useful for teams which are distributed across the
globe
