When working with templates, we often find the need to change the manager of items across project, we often want to use place holders for resources, to be assigned at later stage, and the only way of doing it till now, is go over each of the items, and make the replace. With Clarizen 4.3,  Single Copy/Multi Paste operation may ease up on us.

Tip 1: When creating a project from template, one can open the Workitems subsystem, filter out the results to see only items from the related project, and set a new manager for the first line. Then you need to select the cell, with the new manager, hit the CTRL+C (Copy), the cell border will highlight, then, while scrolling the rest of the list, holding the mouse key clicked, highlight the manager column cells, , and hit the CTRL+V (Paste). The new manager is now set in all relevant cells.

Tip 2: If your projects requires place holding for a group , which later on when creating the project, you need to decide who will be in the project team, you can add your groups (as ‘virtual users’, no invitation, your e-mail) and place them in the template. Once  creating a project from template, one can open the Workitems subsystem, filter out the results to see only items from the related project, sort by resources, and use the Single Copy/Multi Paste operation to replace the place holders
