Another priceless addition that could enhance the www collaberation is the option / addition of digitally aproving phases/confirming dates/ approving and freezing stage of document. Eelectronic signature is another term . For example one of the project tasks is Designe review approval - or approval of the new release after testing and review, review could be done and signed online. |

Great suggestion! We do have request/approval management in the works. Does your company have any special requirements for digital signatures and approvals? For example, in the US sometimes you have to enter in the last 4 digits of your social security number for a digital signature to be valid. |

Our requirements are flexible - it would nice to have a password with a some kind of hash code including a time stamp and version/revision. |

Would each user have their own approval password, or would a specific approval password be set for each request? |

The approval process has built in dependencies - the process would need the ability to see who approved and when therefore each person would have his own password or ID - once approved the next person would be able either to approve or to work on the item. |

We at Avid would also like digital approval for phased gates and other deliverable based tasks. I know that "part 11" FDA compliance requires a password for digital signatures. In some cases it is required to be a different password than what is used to login to the system. This could be set up as optional or required in the Admin. |

I can see an approval as another entity similar to a task, but with an order of approvals (person A must approve, followed by person B, followed by person C, etc.) and with the option of having a digital signature required for each person that needs to approve, which like John mentioned could be something different than the account login. I think this is a great idea, and hopefully other customers will chime in and say they want to see a formal approval process! |
