Document Dropbox

Dear all,

good to have a platform. Let's get started.

What do you think about having improved document management in Clarizen?

I vote for

* A document drop-box. Clarizen should be able to save files that are sent as attachment to Action Item Emails.

* A document list. Clarizen should visualize a list of all documents attached to a project with date, user and version.

* A discussion board for every document could be nice too in project environments.

So what do you think about his?

* Document drop-box, great idea I'll add that to the feature request list.
* Document List: Have you seen the new collaboration view? This allows you to see all documents associated with a project, and even lets you maintain the hierarchical structure of the project. The same can be done with notes, posts, and eventually emails.
* Discussion Board - how would you see this as being different from the posts function?

1) I would add also that the dropbox would support organization of where documentation is saved 2) the system would have in the background settings defining where to save files.
Also future question such as - where would this be located and how would it be accessed- via the main dashboard or on the side ?
would this be offered also with a shortcut without actually uploading the doc?

I would see this as either a way email a document to a work item via a very specific email address, or integration into the Outlook plugin. I don't think it would be setup as a separate file system, but integrated into the file system that has already been built. That way you could add a document at the project level, milestone level, or task level (perhaps issues as well and portfolios in the future).

a document drop-box and a real, simple email drop-box would really be awesome! Different people work on a project and receive emails, drafts etc and every one of these THINGS can have the need to be discussed! That's why I propose a forum FOR EVERY AND EACH ITEM such as documents. This is different from the post, because the post relates to the TASK, and the document relates to the TASK -- but there is no place to discuss the DOCUMENT!

Well, maybe we will find a way to add a DROPBOX to every project, where people can simply throw in emails and documents all via Email, not related to a certain task or so.
It should be sortable per date and user.
Each item should have a discussion board and a way to sign it as "done".

You could go around the need for a dsicussion board.
For example if there are many teams/projects you could create a discussion task or milstone or even a project to collect all discussions.
I would prefer to have a task or milestone per topic within the relative hammock or project, it would be possible to add additional disscussion tasks (if you wish you can have it within time limits) or a milestone as needed.
That item can be used to centeralize and organize the items ,thus keeping the organiztion of the topic- this way it is possible also to add all/any resource to the discussion,

Quite a point! The discussion will take place an such a way if otherwise not possible.
