Reporting Actual Hours and Percentage Complete

Hi Everyone:

I wanted to suggest adding a functionality that would give users the ability to report actual hours and a percentage complete.  I  believe right now you can only do one or the other.  This would help so we could go back and see if a user needed more hours than were planed for so adjustments could be made to future projects or we could see budget concerns that might arise from time spent that was not planned.

Hi Cara, we actually do have this functionality! Work is the estimated # of hours, and actual effort is the number of hours that were actually put into the task. By using time tracking, actual effort will automatically be updated by the hours that users are reporting (you will need to turn on one admin setting which I am pretty sure is already turned on in your account). In this case, users will still be able to enter % completion completely independently of the actual effort. So users will enter actual time via the timesheet and the % completion over progressmail or by logging into the system. You will also be able to run reports showing both the planned work and actual effort, which makes it easy to identify whether or not there was unplanned activity.
